Part of Tokyo's new wave of boutique hotels, Trunk's main selling point is its proximity to fashionable neighbourhoods Harajuku, Aoyama and Shibuya. And its contemporary design favouring natural and salvaged materials to boot. Entry rooms are on the small side for the price; but if money is no issue, the suites (starting at ¥120,000) look amazing and sleep up to four.
For the rest of us, there's a terrace, lounge and reasonably priced yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) stand on the ground floor.
