Parlement de Bretagne

This 17th-century former seat of the rebellious Breton parliament has, in more recent times, been home to the Palais de Justice. In 1994 the building was destroyed by a fire started during a demonstration by Breton fishermen. It was reopened in 2004 after a major restoration and now houses the Court of Appeal. Daily guided tours (book though the tourist office and request in advance for a tour in English) take you through the ostentatiously gilded rooms.
