This metal bridge, built in 1888 and within the grounds of the Imperial Palace, was formerly a wooden bridge with two levels, from which its name (meaning Double Bridge) is derived. Officially, it's the Imperial Palace Main Gate Iron Bridge (皇居正門鉄橋; Kōkyo Seimon Tetsu-bashi). It's behind Megane-bashi.
