The Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI) (mali.pe; S40) is located in a striking late-19th-century Beaux-Arts building in the historic Parque de la Exposición.

After grabbing a coffee at the on-site cafe, visitors can wander across the museum’s iconic black-and-white checkered floors to explore an expansive collection of textiles, ceramics, photography, and paintings, headlined by the country’s most complete set of works by master portraitist Carlos Baca-Flor.

The museum offers a refined overview of Peru’s artistic development, from pre-Columbian to modern times, available during regular hours (S40) or extended Friday nights until 10pm for S9.90 on the last Friday of each month.
