Leopold Gate

The 17th-century baroque Leopold Gate (praha-vysehrad.cz) marks the impressive entryway into the inner Vyšehrad complex. It recalls a time when this area was an important defense fortress for the ruling Habsburg empire. It has a central passageway for vehicles and two side corridors for pedestrians. Between these two main gates, note the only remnants of an earlier 14th-century Gothic gate, the " Peak Gate " (in Czech, Špička brána).
