Peaty and powerful whisky is made by Lagavulin, one of the triumvirate of southern distilleries near Port Ellen. The Lagavulin Tasting Experience (£15) is a good option, cutting out much of the distillery mechanics that you might have already seen elsewhere and replacing it with an extended tasting. The Warehouse Tour (£35) is also a lot of fun.
