Grand Trianon

In the middle of the park, approximately 1.5km northwest of the main building within the Domaine de Trianon are Versailles' two smaller palaces, each of which is surrounded by neatly tended flower beds. The pink-colonnaded Grand Trianon was built in 1687 for Louis XIV and his family as a place of escape from the rigid etiquette of the court. Napoleon I had it redone in the Empire style.
