The weekly Chatikona market takes place at Bissamcuttack (about 40km north) and is mostly attended by the Dongria Kondh and Desia Kondh villagers from the surrounding Niayamgiri Hills. It's mainly a produce market, but there are also bronze animal sculptures made locally using the dokra or lost-wax method of metal casting.
