On the Turó de la Rovira hill in El Carmel neighbourhood, these platforms (part of an anti-aircraft battery during the Spanish Civil War) have magnificent 360-degree Barcelona panoramas. Postwar, this was a shanty town until the early 1990s, and has lain abandoned since then. But the site's popularity (particularly as a sunset-gazing spot) has skyrocketed in recent years, leading to growing local complaints about noise, partying and other antisocial behaviour. At the time of writing, there are plans to restrict access to daylight hours only.
There's a small information centre/museum inside the bunkers themselves; placards give an overview of what once stood here. Buses run here from central Barcelona; from the nearest bus stop in El Carmel, it’s a 10-minute (600m) walk east to the viewpoint.
