Welcome to Henningsvær
A delightful (and rather narrow) 8km-long, islet-hopping journey southwards from the E10 brings you to the still-active fishing village of Henningsvær, perched at the end of a thin promontory. Its nickname, 'the Venice of Lofoten', is somewhat overblown, but it's certainly the trendiest place in the archipelago.
It's also been an important fishing centre for many centuries. There's even a local saying dedicated to the town's piscatorial heritage: 'A real Lofoten cod am I, for I was born in Henningsvær.'
