DAY 1 Time: 8:30 am Windhoek city > Sesriem Area At 8h30 AM, you will be picked up by your guide, we leave Windhoek and we then head south via a small town of the Basters (Rehoboth). The main inhabitants of the town are the Baster Community the descendants of people of mixed parentage who trekked across the Orange River under their leader Hermanus van Wyk, and settled at Rehoboth in 1870. Accommodation: Quiver Tree Tented Camp or similar Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 2 Time: 5:00 am Sesriem > Sossusvlei (tall red sand dunes) > Sesriem Area A predawn start is essential this morning as we want to catch the soft light of the sunrise on the desert as we drive in. We will arrive at the entrance to the dunes on sunrise and then travel through the dune field as the sun is coming up. We spend the morning in and around Sossusvlei, also visiting dune 45″, and as the day wears on we return to Sesriem for lunch and to escape the heat of the afternoon.  Accommodation: Quiver Tree Tented Camp or similar Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 3 Time: 8:00 am Sesriem Area > Swakopmund Seaside Resort An early start today, we are heading north-west to the seaside town of Swakopmund located on the Skeleton Coast. Leaving the dune fields far behind us we are soon back into the mountain desert. We cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse both the Gaub and the Kuiseb pass, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the canyon before climbing up the other side, watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Accommodation: - Beach Hotel or similar Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 4 Time: 8:00 am Swakopmund (day of excursions/ activities) Today is a free day. The idea is to allow time for everybody to do their own thing. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic here is quite cold) and an open-air curio market. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged.  Accommodation: - Beach Hotel or similar Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 5 Time: 9:30 am Swakopmund - Windhoek or Walvis Bay International Airport After a morning breakfast, you can explore the city of Swakopmund on foot, depending on your time of departure in the early afternoon or late evening flight you will be dropped off at Windhoek International Airport or Walvis Bay International Airport for your outbound flight.

3-Day Sossusvlei Express from Swakopmund

Day 1: Desert Camp, near Sesriem (LD) You will be picked up from your guesthouse/hotel in Swakopmund at 11:15am, (wintertime 10:15am) for a brief pre-departure talk. The vehicle will travel via the Kuiseb Canyon and Ghaub Pass before stopping at Solitaire to refuel. Your guide will provide a light lunch on board. Arrival at camp is late afternoon and you will have time for a short walk to view the beautiful sunset over the Naukluft Mountains. Overnight accommodation is in permanent “adobe” style tents with en-suite bathroom. Dinner is prepared over the campfire by your guide.  Day 2: Desert Camp, near Sesriem (BLD) Depart at dawn from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. Drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes to the 2x4 parking (around 55kms) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei area to appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the region. Explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colors. Either walk or take the 4x4 shuttle back to our vehicle. Driveing back to your accommodations you will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune, or just wander around the base. Return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at your lodge late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms. Dinner prepared by your guide.  Day 3: Windhoek (B)Early morning breakfast before heading to Solitaire Guest Farm where you will join a biologist to track wild cheetahs at the N/a'ankuse Namib Conservation Centre. Return to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth. Arrive mid-afternoon and you will be dropped at your accommodation. Should you wish to travel on this afternoon we do not recommend flights prior to 5pm.

6-Day Dunes and Wildlife Tour from Windhoek

Day 1: Halali, Etosha National Park  (LD) Collection from your accommodation is at 7:15am for the pre-departure talk. Arriving at the park gate we game drive through the park takes us to waterholes looking for wildlife before arriving at our lodge just before sunset. We highly recommend spending time at the floodlit waterhole. Day 2: Taleni Etosha Village (BLD) Our first game drive today is at sunrise to catch the predators while they are still active before returning to Halali for breakfast. Our second game drive takes us to the impressive Etosha Pan where we can get out of the vehicle and experience this “saline desert” before continuing our game drive to look for the Big 4. We arrive back at Halali where we have lunch before heading off on our final game drive across the park towards Okaukuejo and leaving the park prior to sunset. Day 3: Hotel a la Mer, Swakopmund (BL) Our route today takes us into Damaraland. We have the chance to meet the local people before enjoying a light roadside lunch is served en-route in the shadow of Namibia's tallest mountain. On the drive down the Skeleton Coast we explore the remains of a small shipwreck before arriving in Swakopmund mid-afternoon. Dinner tonight is at own expense. Days 4 & 5: Desert Camp, Sesriem (BLD) This morning after breakfast we have free time to explore Swakopmmund or joining a 2 hour sand boarding experience. Pick up from Hotel A La Mer is from 10:15am. We drive through the Namib Desert, arriving at our camp late afternoon where we have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before dinner. Dawn departure from camp on Saturday to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. We drive down an ancient river bed and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei area to appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light. We explore Dead Vlei with its expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, with a backdrop of huge dunes. En-route to our lodge we will stop at the famous Dune 45 before visiting the nearby Sesriem Canyon.
