Statue of Alan Goa

Mongolia

This red statue of Alan Goa, a locally revered folk heroine, looks like a Roman legionary planted incongruously in the middle of an alpine meadow. Despite the name, Alan was a woman; 'goa' means 'the beauty'.

The statue is located around 11km south of Chandman-Öndör.
