Iglesia Santa Bárbara

Designed and erected for Paris’ 1889 World’s Fair, then disassembled and stored in Brussels for shipping to West Africa, Gustave Eiffel’s (yes, of Eiffel Tower fame) prefabricated Iglesia Santa Bárbara was, instead, shipped here when a director of the French-owned mining company Boleo signed for its delivery to the town in 1895.
