Welcome to Rasdhoo Atoll
The small atoll of Rasdhoo lies off the northeastern corner of Ari Atoll. The atoll’s main island, also called Rasdhoo, is the administrative capital of North Ari Atoll, despite not being within the natural atoll itself. Rasdhoo is an attractive little town with a secondary school, a health centre, several mosques and a growing number of guesthouses and souvenir shops. The island has been settled for many centuries and there are traces here of a Buddhist society predating the arrival of Islam. Today it's a big backpacker destination, with great beaches nearby, excellent and affordable diving and some of the better guesthouse accommodation in the country on offer.
