Palazzo della Ragione

Duomo & San Babila

Erected between 1228 and 1251, Milan's 'Palace of Reason' is one of the few remaining medieval constructions to survive. Its Romanesque arcade served as a marketplace, auction and public assembly while justice was dispensed upstairs in a large frescoed hall. Currently the space (sans frescoes) is undergoing extensive renovations and is due to reopen as an important contemporary photography venue.
