The Connemara Experience- 7 Days

Day 1. Dublin to RoundstoneOnce you depart from Dublin city, your tour will travel across the country to the wild west where you will begin your adventure. You will stop in the bohemian city of Galway. Afterwards you will arrive at the village of Roundstone. Then we'll get you on a bike and take in some fresh sea air and beautiful views of the surrounding area.  On your return, you will visit the world famous Bodhran factory. Day 2.  Inisbofin IslandAfter your breakfast, you'll strap your hiking boots on and we'll travel to Inisbofin Island from Cleggan. After some lunch upon arrival, we'll begin our hike around the island and view its many birds, wild flowers and seal colonies along the route. The island is 5 miles off the Galway coast and is home to many white sandy beaches and coves. Maybe we'll take a dip along the way, if it takes our fancy.  Day 3.  Connemara National Park You'll be brought on a pony trek through Connemara's beautiful countryside. In the afternoon you will be taken to a real working mountain sheep farm. After a tour of the farm, the farmer will give you a sheep dog demonstration. Watch the skill of the farmer, as well as the sheep dog as he rounds the flock up in a matter of minutes. The farmer will then teach you the ancient art of turf cutting. Day 4. Hike Up Mt MweelreaThis morning, you will begin your assent of the highest mountain in Connemara called 'Mweelrea'. It is truly a spectacular sight from the top and one that you'll never forget. After all your hard work today, there is only one way to unwind and relax and that's with Leenan's world famous Connemara seaweed baths.  Day 5.  Kylemore AbbeyYou will have been looking at Killary Harbour for the last day or so and now it's time to get in!  You will kayak along the deepest water inlet in Europe, where U-boats used to hide during World War II.  Killary harbour is also one of only two fjords in Ireland. Afterwards we will visit Kylemore Abbey, a fairytale sight. Day 6. The Inagh Valley Walk - ConnemaraToday, we will be taking a walk through the Maumturk Mountains.  The walk is called the Maunméan walk and it is spectacular.  You will walk through a gap in the mountain range and down to the Inagh Valley, where you will find Inage lodge, a wonderful oasis where you can have some lunch after your walk. We will stay in Leenane again tonight. Day 7.  Tullamore Dew & Return to DublinSadly, we must leave our beloved Connemara and head back to the capital. The Irish are world famous for our whiskey making.  Whiskey was born in Ireland and Tullamore Dew is one of Ireland's many world famous brands.  Before we return to Dublin, you will visit their newly refurbished visitors centre where you can learn all about the secrets of whiskey making.

The Wild North - 8 Day Tour

DAY 1: DISCOVER GALWAY From Dublin’s fair city, we set our compasses due west, making our way through the lush midlands of Ireland in search of the wild Atlantic coastline and the Bohemian city of Ireland, Galway. Take the opportunity to explore and wander its bustling streets, sample its famed culinary delights and traditional music scene. Later that afternoon, we commence our journey northwards passing Killary harbour and secluded picturesque lakes that line our path to the colourful town of Westport.DAY 4: DISCOVER WESTPORT    You have the day to either relax, explore or take an adventure in picturesque Westport. It is famous for Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holiest mountain and Clew Bay, which has an island for everyday of the year. The town is rich in historical areas of interest and a great traditional music scene. DAY 5: WESTPORT TO DONEGAL TOWN VIA DOWNPATRICK HEADDeparting Westport, we make our along the northern wild and rugged coastline of Mayo before arriving in Donegal Town, known as the fort of the foreigners. DAY 6: DONEGAL TOWN TO PORTRUSH VIA GLENVEAGH NATIONAL PARK      Portrush is our end destination today, as we head north exploring the wilds of Donegal DAY 7: THE GIANT’S CAUSEWAY AND BELFAST CITY We take you to the dramatic coastal setting of the Giant’s Causeway and go to Belfast city. DAY 8: DISCOVER DUBLIN We depart Belfast and make our way back to the capital of Ireland, Dublin, where you have the opportunity to visit many of its historical attractions, jump aboard the Dublin Hop-on Hop-off City Tour or simply relax and explore its vibrant streets.
