Masrur Temples

Top choice hindu temple in Kangra Valley

Masrur's elaborate 10th-century sandstone sikharas are among the very few rock-cut temples in north India. With a passing resemblance to temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, they are especially beautiful when seen with their reflections in the tank in front. Masrur is 40km west of Kangra and 31km southwest of Gaggal, along winding roads through pleasant green hills in either case.

The easiest way to get here is a taxi day-trip (around ₹2500 from McLeod Ganj if combined with Kangra, or ₹2000 without Kangra).
