Arguably the best view in Rothenburg is from the Rathausturm (adult/child/family €4/2/10), the tower of the town hall, Rathaus on Marktplatz. Climb the 220 steps to the viewing platform for widescreen views of the Tauber. While views are sweeping and superb, the viewing platform is narrow, often crowded and not for those with a fear of heights!
The Rathaus on Marktplatz was begun in Gothic style in the 14th century and was completed during the Renaissance.
