Yantai Museum

The sparkling museum traces the historical development of the Jiaodong peninsula, where Yantai currently stands, from the prehistoric age and successive kingdoms to the present day. There’s a display on the "Shell Mound" culture (a glimpse at a Neolithic civilization’s rubbish) and a wonderful collection of rare porcelain. There are reasonable English descriptions.
