Plazoleta El Yunque is a tranquil forest clearing with bathrooms, water, and picnic and camping areas at the base of the 915m-high Cerro El Yunque (The Anvil). You will pass the crumbled foundation of the home of a German survivor of the Dresden who once homesteaded here. He was known as the 'German Robinson.'

An elevated walking path runs from here into a preserved patch of native forest. This is one of the best spots for viewing the Juan Fernández hummingbird.
