I love trains, and have ridden the rails on six continents. I'm also an urban type of traveller, happiest exploring food, the arts, and neighbourhoods. In addition to updating Lonely Planet's guidebooks for Poland (where I once lived) and Australia (where I live now), I'm the author of travel books including The Kick of Stalin’s Cow, about Poland, and Heading South, about an epic rail journey around Australia.
