About Chahira
Born and raised in Vancouver to Algerian and South African parents, I’ve always lived between worlds. Childhood summers on the Algerian coast sparked a deep love for the country’s landscapes, cultures, and traditions. This passion ultimately led me to move to the Sahara, where I co-founded Duneya Tours – a desert tour company based in Djanet that connects travelers worldwide with the wonders of Tassili N’Ajjer National Park. Today, I split my time between the Sahara and beautiful British Columbia, creating content through @discoveringduneya, a creative social media project dedicated to showcasing the often-overlooked beauty of Algeria.
