I'm an LA-based travel writer with a rare talent for buying difficult-to-carry souvenirs: 3ft Israeli loofahs, 12ft Moroccan rugs, prickly desert cacti – I've schlepped them all! For five years I served as the US editor for the travel company Mr & Mrs Smith; I previously worked as a research editor at Vogue, HGTV Magazine and New York magazine. In addition to the souvenirs, I travel for unforgettable meals, good hikes and the occasional surf session.
