Palais Epstein

Landmark in The Museum District & Neubau

Designed by Theophil von Hansen, the same architect who created the plans for the Österreichisches Parlament (Austrian parliament) next door, Palais Epstein houses Austrian national parliament administrative offices. You can take tours in German through its hallowed halls (the glass atrium rises an impressive four floors) and visit its bel étage rooms. The only way to see inside is by taking a tour.

With a filigree ceiling of gold lacework and circular frescoes (Hansen based it on detail in the Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Venice), the Spielzimmer (play room) is a highlight.
