Yarrangobilly Caves

Cave in Kosciuszko National Park

Yarrangobilly Caves is a complex of three caves, with the requisite stalactites, helictites and a remarkable 4m stalagmite, known as Cleopatra's Needle. At the site there is also a blissfully located 20m mineral thermal pool, its green waters maintaining a constant temperature of 27°C year-round. We spotted kangaroos here last time we visited. The caves are 6km off the Snowy Mountains Hwy, which stretches from Cooma northwest to the Hume Hwy, cutting a meandering path through the beautiful highlands of Kosciuszko's north.
