The Force is strong with this one.

Disney execs have announced an addition to the parks’ ever-expanding roster of Star Wars attractions, and this one's a doozy: at some point in the not-so-distant future, fans will be able to spend the night within the films’ universe itself, via an interactive attraction docking soon at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando

Dubbed Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the immersive experience will welcome guests for two days and two nights on a star liner—a Corellian MPO-1400, to be precise—called the Halcyon, with well-appointed cabins and plenty of onboard dining options. “Part of the Chandrila Star Line, the Halcyon is an elegant craft befitting galactic voyagers and explorers who like to travel in style,” the official Star Wars site declares.

Though fans can choose their own adventure while aboard, all guest experiences start the same way. Once you’ve checked in at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal, a launch pod will take you into hyperspace—and onto the ship itself, where you’ll enter the Halcyon’s atrium and your personal story will begin. Other than a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on the remote outpost of Batuu and an excursion to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll spend most of your time role-playing with characters, crew, and fellow passengers to become part of the action, and the story itself.

As you travel through space, you can learn to handle a lightsaber and see how you measure up against a training remote, or head to the bridge to practice your navigation and defense skills, putting the ship’s systems to the test. Don’t forget to look out the window—each one has views of the stars—or delve into the ship’s depths, where hidden spaces in the mechanics might just reveal themselves.

The news was first revealed in late August, at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. A few days later, Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and Ann Morrow Johnson, executive producer and creative director for Walt Disney Imagineering, shared further details with the convention crowd.
