This huge outdoor pool complex is a Sea Point institution and has some lovely art deco decoration. It gets very busy on hot summer days, not surprisingly, since the pools are always at least 10ºC warmer than the always-frigid ocean. At the time of research, there was a controversy raging over the proposed redevelopment of the adjacent site into a hotel, apartment and retail complex – so far residents have stalled this going ahead.
