Mount Pleasant

Historic Building in Logan Square & Fairmount

This 1764 mansion was described by John Adams in 1775 'as the most elegant seat in Pennsylvania.' The Georgian building is closed for general maintenance, but its lovely Georgian exterior and flanking outbuildings still have bags of visual appeal.

Mount Pleasant, which is managed by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, is best known for being the home for a time of infamous Revolutionary War traitor Benedict Arnold.
