Welcome to Kahala
The affluent seaside suburb of Kahala is home to many of Honolulu’s wealthiest residents, the island’s most exclusive resort hotel and the Waialae Country Club, a PGA tournament golf course. The coastal road, Kahala Ave, is lined with expensive waterfront homes that block out virtually any ocean views. In between the mansions, a few shoreline access points provide public rights-of-way to the beach, where the swimming is mostly shallow and rocky.
The tiny peninsula of Black Rock (Kupikipikio) is home to one of Oʻahu's top attractions: Shangri La.
