The 22-story A'DAM Tower (adamtoren.nl; viewing platform adult/child €18.50/12.50) was built in 1971 and used as the Royal Dutch Shell oil company offices. It's now a multivenue extravaganza, with a 360-degree viewing platform on its 100m-high rooftop, complete with interactive binoculars and super-size cushions for lounging in fine weather.
A six-person giant swing – Europe's highest – kicks out over the edge (€7.50 per person). You can also add on an "Amsterdam VR Ride" (€7.50), taking you on a wild simulated roller-coaster ride through the historic city.
On the 20th floor, bar/nightclub Madam Amsterdam (madamamsterdam.nl) has stunning, floor-to-ceiling windows and DJ sets on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 5am. A floor below is revolving restaurant Moon (restaurantmoon.nl). In the basement, underground house and techno club Shelter (shelteramsterdam.nl) runs until 7am on weekends thanks to a 24/7 license.
