The 50-acre University of Colombo campus, founded in 1870, is surrounded by long tree-lined avenues. Wander Cumaratunga Munidasa Mawatha on the southwest side of the green, and ponder the gracious lives of the people who built the Italianate baroque Saifee Villa in 1910 and the nearby turreted College House in 1912.
For security reasons, entry to the campus is reserved for students and faculty.
