Housed in another architectural wonder on Kolding's outskirts, Trapholt (trapholt.dk, 140kr, under-18s free, closed Mondays) is a terrific and capacious modern art museum showcasing everything from global art superstar installations to covetable mid-century furniture, including Denmark's largest collection of 20th-century chairs.
One of the museum's more intriguing exhibits is legendary Danish designer Arne Jacobsen's prefab summerhouse, Kubeflex. Standing outside on the museum's lawn, the innovative modular building is a prototype exhibited in 1970. Jacobsen died a year later and the summerhouse never went into production. The museum's stylish restaurant, Café Gustav Lind, comes with gorgeous views of Kolding Fjord.
