Chugging along a 13km stretch of track between St-Jean du Gard and Anduze (15km southwest of Alès), this fabulous steam train follows an old line through the Gardon Valley that was in operation between 1909 and 1971. Restored by enthusiasts, the ride (40 minutes one way) traverses several arched viaducts and subterranean tunnels, including the 833m-long Tunnel d’Anduze.
There are three or four trains daily depending on the season. It's a marvelous way to see the scenery.
