RSPB Minsmere

About 8 miles north of Aldeburgh, the nature reserve at RSPB Minsmere is home to one of England's rarest birds, the bittern, along with dozens of other migratory bird species, best spotted in the autumn. Trails run across the marshes that line the foreshore to hides that offer prime spotting opportunities. The reserve borders the National Trust–administered Dunwich Heath, another fine spot for coastal birdwatching.
