The small Planetario Maria Reiche (S20) subscribes to archaeologist Maria Reiche's theory that the Lines represent celestial alignments. It gives a presentation on the relationship between the Lines and certain stars with nightly shows in English, French and Spanish. Times for showing in each language are posted daily on the building door.
The planetarium is run by a Nazca Lines researcher-astronomer who worked with Reiche. After the show, you can observe the heavens with guided gazes through his telescope. It provides a relaxing, informative accompaniment to any Lines visit and gives you plenty of fuel for forming your own ideas about what these ancient symbols really signify.
