Orford Castle

Three square towers joined by a circular wall create a very striking profile for this slender 12th-century castle, raised by Henry II. It's pretty much intact and visitors can explore original halls, kitchens, bed chambers, passages and cells, and follow spiralling stairs (note the molded ceiling overhead) to the roof for glorious views of the nature reserve of Orford Ness.
