Museum Stoomtram

From Hoorn's small train-station-housed museum, steam locomotives puff between Hoorn station and Medemblik (22km, 75 minutes). You can combine train and boat travel on the "Historic Triangle" (adult/child €26.70/18.50): from Hoorn to Medemblik by steam train, then by boat to Enkhuizen and finally a regular NS train back to Hoorn (20 minutes). Departure times vary, confirm in advance.
