Muséum Bordeaux – Sciences et Nature

With a collection of one million-plus different specimens (3500 of which are displayed at any one time), Bordeaux' science and nature museum is among France's most impressive – the oldest exhibits have been displayed since 1791. Housed from 1857 in the elegant Hôtel de Lisleferme (1780) in the city's stunning flower-festooned Jardin Public, the modern museum uses interactive exhibits and digital displays to excellent effect. On the ground floor, children aged six and under can enjoy their own dedicated Musée des Tout-Petits.
