Musée du Chevalier d'Éon

Charles d'Éon de Beaumont, an 18th-century French diplomat and spy for Louis XV, spent nearly half of his life assuming the role of a woman and dressing accordingly, spreading the fame of Tonnerre's wines across Europe during stints in St Petersburg and London. His one-time home is now a museum run by one of his descendants, the affable Philippe Luyt, who leads tours (in French; call for details).
