Machrie Moor Stone Circle

On the western side of Arran island is Machrie Moor Stone Circle, a pleasant 1.2-mile stroll from the parking area on the coastal road, or an extended walk from King's Cave. There are actually several separate groups of stones of varying sizes, erected around 4000 years ago. You pass a Bronze Age burial cairn along the path.
