This high-tech complex (formerly Amsterdam ArenA), with a retractable roof, is the home of four-time European champions Ajax, the Netherlands' most famous football team. When no games are on, fans can tour the 1996-opened 68,000-capacity stadium (there's a separate tour for children) and visit the World of Ajax museum, with memorabilia including jerseys, trophies, ticket stubs and player contracts, even commemorative Delftware porcelain. The arena also hosts big-name live-music shows. It's 7km southeast of central Amsterdam, easily accessible by metro.
