This photography museum stages large-scale temporary exhibitions from its own collection as well as traveling shows. Themes might include portraiture, nature or regional photography. Its exhibition spaces spread over two 17th-century canal houses, including Huis Marseille, built around 1665 by French merchant Isaac Focquier, who installed a map of the French port Marseille on the facade. Stuccowork and Jacob de Wit's ceiling painting were added the following century; the 18th-century garden house was reconstructed in 2003.
Look out for the 18th-century fountain in the library, and a painting of Apollo, Minerva and the muses in the garden room.
