Hanu' lui Manuc

Originally certified as a royal residence in 1459 during Vlad Țepeș’ rule of Wallachia, the ruins of Bucharest's Old Princely Court date from the 15th century. Directly across from the ruins is Hanu’ lui Manuc, the oldest inn in town and known for its restaurant serving Romanian food. Old Princely Court Church is Bucharest’s oldest church (16th century); it's a revered place of worship where hundreds of pilgrims arrive on Tuesdays to pray to the relics of St Anthony the Great. Street names such as Covaci (blacksmiths), Șelari (saddle makers) and Blănari (furriers) tell the story of occupations practiced centuries ago. Str Lipscani is the biggest, named after the city of Leipzig (many of the traders at the time brought their wares from there).
