Fuggereimuseum

See how residents lived in the Fuggerei (fugger.de; adult/concession/child/family €8/7/4/18) before running water and central heating in this museum located in one of the building's apartments. The sober, modest place sports painted timber furniture so typical for the Alps, and whitewashed walls. A film next door tells the Fuggerei's story. There's another branch at Ochsengasse 46 and 47, which looks at everyday life at the Fuggerei, including the hardships of WWII, and there's more war heritage on show at the War Bunker, where an interesting exhibition documents the destruction of much of the complex in a 1944 air raid.
