Fondazione Giorgio Cini

In 1951, industrialist and art patron Vittorio Cini acquired the monastery of San Giorgio. The rehabilitated complex is an architectural treasure incorporating designs by Andrea Palladio and Baldassare Longhena, and includes an outdoor theater that Katherine Hepburn called the "most beautiful in the world." You need to book the differently themed tours online. Some visit the cloisters, some the refectory and libraries and then gaze down on the Borges Labyrinth – an intricate garden maze built to honor Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges.
