Energetic Gulira speaks excellent English and is tirelessly keen to help visitors. She can arrange guides, horses, yurtstays, homestays, transport, eagle shows, cooking classes...and basically anything else you can dream up. Helpfully the office tries to pair up visitors to save costs on shared rides or programs.
Within a day, border permits (US$25) and rides can be organised to get you across the Torugart Pass to Kashgar. They even serve espresso on the patio out front of the office.
