Five and a half metres below the waves and stretching for 0.8km, this bizarrely symmetrical limestone formation was discovered in 1968. Its precision seems unnatural, giving rise to the perhaps inevitable interpretation that Plato's mythical city of Atlantis had finally been located. Nothing else of the 'city' remains, but it's an evocative dive site, often blessed with abundant sea life.
