Pipeline Rd is considered to be one of the world’s premier birdwatching sites. Unsurprisingly, it is intensely popular with birders, especially in the early morning. More than 400 different species of birds have been spotted on the trail, and it’s fairly likely you will spot everything from toucans to trogons.

Also known as the Camino del Oleoducto, the 17km-long dirt track was built to service an oil pipeline constructed (and never used) by the USA during WWII.
