Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna sanctuary trek is another well-known name of Annapurna Base Camp trekking which is surrounded by the ring of high mountains above 7000mtrs. ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK (ABC Trek)

A nnapurna Base Camp trek is often called as ABC trek. It is one of the Most Popular Treks in Annapurna region. This trek is also popular as Annapurna Sanctuary trek. The ABC trek is an adventurous journey to the lap of Mt. Annapurna (8091m), world’s tenth highest mountain, as well as deep into the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary. The major attractions of Annapurna Base Camp trek is the opportunity to observe 360 degree views of world’s highest mountains including Annapurna I, II, III and IV, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Mt. Fishtail (Macchapuchre) , Gangapurna and Glacier Dome among others. You will be passing through typical Gurung villages, terraced fields, rivers, streams, waterfall and green hills. The contrasting landscape of dense tropical jungle of rhododendrons and bamboo full of wildlife activities in the south slope of Mt. Annapurna and barren Tibetan-plateau like landscape in the northern slope will mesmerize you beyond anything. During spring, the forests come alive with birds and beautiful rhododendron flowers. Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest river gorge in the world, stretching 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide can also be observed in this area. The trail of Annapurna Base Camp trek falls in the Annapurna Conservation Area project (ACAP), the largest protected area in Nepal. Thus it is home to 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians. The major inhabitants of Annapurna Region are Gurung, Magar, Thakali, Manange and Loba who follow Buddhist religion and have unique culture and custom. The 14 days Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is considered as the longes trekking program to the Annapuna Base Camp which includes hike to Poon Hill (3232 m). Poon Hill is one of the famous view points in the Himalayas offering astonishing views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. The trek starts from Pokhara, a scenic touristic town full of lakes, caves and adventure. You can either fly to Pokhara from Kathamandu, which takes 30 minutes, or take a 5 hours drive from Kathmandu. Annapurna Base Camp Trekking - 14 Days

Day 01: Arrival at Tribuvan International Airport(TIA) Kathmandu. Upon arrival our travel representative will greet you at Airport and transfer to you Hotel.  Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) by tourist bus, takes about 7 hours. This drive will take most of our morning time, leaving much of the afternoon to get a warming glimpse of Pokhara Valley and fall in love with its ethereal beauty. Day 03: Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) takes approximately one and a half hours and start trek to Tikhedhunga.(1480m). 4 hours. Now you begin your trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tirkhedhunga (1480 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.) which takes about four and a half hours. Day 04:Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2860 m.) takes about 6 hours. You begin your trek with steep ascend for the first 2 hours and then gently passing through Magar villages of Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthati.  Day 05:Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3180m.) and then to Tadapani (2675m.) takes about 7 hours. Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the superb sunrise views then back hotel, after breakfast we heading to next destination.  Day 06:Trek from Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.) takes about 4 hours. It is an easy descent all the way through rhododendron and oak forests.The Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village which offers good views of lots of Mountains. Day 07:Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2040 m.) takes approximately 5 hours. Chhomrong is a gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary trek and inhabited by Gurung, one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal. Day 08:Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya (2920m.) takes about five hours. Leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends on a stone staircase and crosses the Chhomrong climbing further on a rocky trail to Himalaya. Day 09:Trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp (4170 m.) takes about 7 hours. This is one of the places, where you can enjoy the view of many attractive mountains. Day 10: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m.) takes about 6 hours. You will trek from Annapurna base camp to bamboo. Day 11:Trek from Bamboo to Jhinudanda (1750m.) takes about approximately 5 hours. The last part of the trail is steeply down to Jhinudanda. From the town you walk down for 20 minutes to reach Hot Spring at the bank of the Modi Khola. You can unwind yourself at the hot springs. Day 12:Trek from Jhinudanda to Pokhara (914m.) takes about 5 hours walk and one and half hour drive. For the first part of the trek, you will descend observing beautiful waterfalls.  Day 13:Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes about seven hours. Mardi Himal Trek

Day 01: Arrival in KathmanduUpon your arrival at Kathmandu airport,our staff member will meet at airport and drop to hotel.Day 02: Drive to PokharaToday early morning will take a tourist bus to get in Pokhara and it takes about 6-7 hours from Kathmandu. We can enjoy beautiful scenic view of terraced rice field, eye catching landscape.Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to PothanaAfter breakfast we drive half an hour to Phedi and commence our trek to Pothana. The trail is steep until Dhampus and pleasant easy walk up to Pothana.Day 04: Trek to forest CampToday will leave the main Annapurna Sanctuary trek trail and continue along a quite trail through a  dense forest of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendron.Day 04: Trek to Forest Camp at Kokar (2,600m) 4 hours walking From Pothana you walk up to a place called Pitam Deurali where you will turn off the main Annapurna Sanctuary trek and continue along a quiet trail through a dense forest of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendron.Day 05: Trek to Low Camp (3,150m) 5 hours trekking The trail continues from Forest Camp to Low Camp through the forest however as we ascend the vegetation starts to change with more rhododendron and the trees are covered with moss, lichen and tree ferns. Day 06: Trek to High Camp (3,700m) 4 hours trekking An hour or so above Low Camp the trail breaks out above tree line and towards the west there is a good view to Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trail continues along the Mardi Himal ridge mainly on grass with some isolated rhododendron bushes along the way.Day 07: Excursion to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) 4 hours Trekking The plan for today is to wake early for sunrise view of the mountains then after an early breakfast walk up the ridge towards Mardi Himal Base CampDay 08: Trek to Siding village (1,750m) 6 hours walking On the way back we take a different route so completing a circuit, from Low Camp there is a trail that goes down to Siding village rather than going back down Mardi Himal back to Kokar. Day 09: Trek to Lumre and drive to Pokhara 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving From Siding you walk out to the road head at Lumre, on the way from Siding you will pass the villages of Kalimati and Ghalel. Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu We ride the tourist bus to Kathmandu and have lunch on the way. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, Last Minutes shopping in Thamel and farewell dinner in Nepalese cultural dance Restaurant.Day 11: DepartureWilderness Excursion representative will drop you at international airport and see you off for final departure to home.
