Memorial Stone

Sabah

There's a small monument to Private Thomas Leslie Starcevich, an Australian WWII veteran. In 1945 Starcevich single-handedly overwhelmed a Japanese machine-gun position, for which he received the Victoria Cross, the British military's highest decoration. The stone is at the bottom of a small embankment and is marked by brown signs and an arch.
